Run away Wheelchairs and Other Life Lessons

Life has a way of teaching you lessons, and looking back some of the lessons are well hysterical in retrospect, though probably not at the time, and some of the lessons, give you hope in humanity.

On a warm Georgia day in August of 02, we were at my best friends house, when we all decided to take a drive, Mimmi (Not her real name) and that involved putting in a decent sized wheelchair, into a small trunk, she had a little blue Toyota if memory serves me right, anyway that was probably not something we should have volunteered though, because honestly we had no idea what we were doing. And sure enough we did something wrong, because as we were on a quiet road, thankfully the trunk flew open, and out goes a wheelchair, her boyfriend, who later became her husband pulls over, stops the car, and thankfully gets the wheelchair.

*Always makes sure the trunk always latches when trying to load a wheelchair into the trunk of the car.

And then there was the time my friend’s almost two year old son, pulled the handicap accessible emerge alarm, bringing out what seemed like the entire fire department. Man, did we get some strange looks, a couple of strange people, and a toddler from California, who were rather clueslesss had the fire department out because we didn’t have a clue at the time that all we had to do was pull the alarm…
