Shades of Hope: Chapter Two

Chapter Two:
Miranda looked at her best friend Sienna, realizing how quickly a life could change.
Sienna being shot was a reminder that tomorrow wasn’t a promise, but a gift. A lesson they had learned young, but Sienna was so strong.
I couldn’t be so strong if it were me. I could not handle things the way she was.

Lord I know it is you that has given Sienna the strength.
Sienna gripped the wheels of her chair, trying to keep up with the pace of everyone else. She wanted to keep up with her pens, she watched as feet shuffled past her, but Miranda stayed by her side the way she had done during the months when Sienna was in the hospital.
Her gripped went tighter, her glove laced hands protecting her hands from energy. Sienna needed her hands more than ever. Her legs were now lifeless, her dead feet resting on the foot rests. Her wheelchair was purple with purple rims, so much better than the one she had used in the hospital.
Life is so different for me now, I am no longer on the ballet stage, I am no longer a dancer, but I do miss it Lord. I miss the beauty of the dance.
