The Eerie Night

Chapter Forty Two:

Some nights felt eerie, as if someone was watching us, and knowing all the threats, we knew that the possibility was real, and although we tried to stay strong, we were sometimes fearful, despite a faith that had been shaken but still remained strong!

We knew where to go when fear took control of us, like this night, where it seemed eerie shadows were everywhere. Although God was with us, he sent his only Son to die for us, but evil also existed. Being a Christian didn’t change that.

It was obvious that I was afraid, even though I tried to be strong for Delilah’s sake. She knew me better than any brave front I could put on.

Delilah stayed close, the fear was palpable, she’d heard the threats, and knew what this monster was capable of. Nearly two dozen lives were taken from his hands, evil hands, that took pleasure in draining the lives of others.

As I was walking out of that grocery store parking lot on that cold April Day, he had tried to kill me.

The truth is, I was a target for years. He wanted Delilah and me dead, just so he could say he had killed an entire family.

Using his name would only serve to glorify his evil acts, describing him as a monster would be a gross…
