Chapter Fifteen

Even behind bars, he was trying to haunt me, crank calls, eerie emails, things he shouldn’t have been able to do. It took a monster to shoot me without any reason. Monster who thrived on causing fear to others. At times it worked. It was what he wanted, and I bore the scars of what he could do, and I feared not only my own safety but the safety of others as well. This was the face of a monster.

“When will this end?” I didn’t expect an answer. Some questions had no answers.”

“I wish I knew.” Deliah said honestly. He’ll eventually tire of this.”

“I hope so.” I said. I wasn’t so sure. He hadn’t gotten tired of it yet.

Despite the emails’ lack of recognizable names, the headings convinced me it was him. The officer heading the case saw the emails, knowing there was little he could do, but maybe a computer analyst could investigate. It was important to me that all bases were covered, so that there would be records if anything happened. Praying it wouldn’t.

Ease my fears Lord, I said, let this stop.

One day, I’ll finish what I started. You better start counting your days.

He was trying to get to me, to throw me in a state of terror. And if I let it, it would work, but he…
