Chapter Five:
When I closed my eyes, I saw his face, but it wasn’t exactly the face of evil, since evil has many faces. The court had gone virtual, like so many other things. I was now facing him through a live feed on a computer screen. However, this meant I did not have to be in the same room as him. That honestly wasn’t something I was prepared for.
I had one light in this bleak tunnel: my sister would be there when I faced this man. In this case, the hospital made an exception, so I had support when I faced the monster. No matter how you looked at it, it was difficult.
It was going to be a gift to see Deliah in person. My sister was very important to me, especially when I encountered the man who turned my world upside down, and in a very real way, hers as well.
