Shadows that Lurk in the Light-Chapter Forty One:
Every Step Forward
Chapter Forty One:
Sometimes it felt like I was looking out a window with only half of a view, but gradually it was opening up. As the world slowly started finding its footing after a global pandemic, I was finding my footing navigating the world in a wheelchair, a world that was not always accessible!
Going through any of this alone wouldn’t have been possible, so I relied on Jesus and my sister. When our only connection was through my iPhone’s six-inch screen, I knew she was there, and her taking me in was a blessing! My house had finally been put on the market, something that had not been easy, but was necessary. Eventually I would be able to get my own place, but the one I had been in before was far from accessible!
There was still that nagging worry that crept up whenever there was a late night call, but we were once again getting comfortable despite our grief. Even though our parents had been murdered almost a decade earlier, we only learned that they had been murdered a few months ago by the same man who wanted to kill my sister and me.
”It feels good to start getting back to normal.“ Delilah told me one morning before church, which was the first time we had in-person services in months.
