Shadows that Lurk in the Light: Chapter Nineteen:
Chapter Nineteen:
I was close with my sister before I was shot, but now we were closer. God doesn’t cause evil, but he can use struggles for good. He wasn’t responsible for the bad things, but he was able to use them for his glory.
In the struggles, God used my sister to remind me of my place. She kept reminding me that my heart had not changed, though my circumstances had. As she pointed out, I was always doing my part to help, just speaking out against violence, not letting the monster destroy me was a huge step. I didn’t feel that way, but my sister did.
Knowing I got upset whenever he somehow managed to contact me, Deeliah started monitoring the phone calls. This man in prison who shouldn’t have been able to stalk me from prison walls managed to do so, and honestly it angered me and made my sister even more protective.
“This can’t last forever.” Deliah gently reminded me. Eventually, he will be caught.”
Every time I got my hopes up, it seemed they were crushed. I wanted to believe my sister, wanting to believe he would be caught. When I thought I was done hearing his evil voice, the phone would ring, and I would hear it again. While it had been awhile since I had last heard from him, I couldn’t shake the feeling he was still lurking.
