Chapter Thirty Four:

Whenever the phone rang, I would feel my heart race, because I never knew who was on the other end, whether it was the man who had tried to destroy our lives twice. Even though he was behind bars, he still found ways to reach us. I didn’t understand why he hated my family so much, but he did, and it didn’t matter why.

I was scared, but Deliah was too, I wasn’t the only target, my little sister was too. Even though I prayed every day, he still got to us, not even prison walls could stop him.

Lord, I know you are in control, but I can’t help but fear this man, because I know what he’s capable of, he’s capable of causing unimaginable pain and stretching it into something even more painful even more long lasting. But Lord, I know good will win in the end. It’s all in your hands, Lord.

Thankfully, we have been left alone for the past few weeks since they found our parents’ remains on Ken’s property, along with a dozen other bodies. Not all of them have been identified yet.

“I don’t want him to ever get out, he ruined so many lives.” Deliah sighed.

“That’s not going to happen.” I said trying to seem confident.

Deliah nodded, but I knew she knew I had the same questions. We were both…
