She Painted Hope

--

“Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”

Helen Keller

She painted hope

In such vivid

Colors

In hues

And shades

She could

Not see

But beauty

And hope

Are not

Seen as

Much as

Felt inwardly.

She sang

Songs of courage

A perfect melody

A song sung

Without sound.

She colored courage

Stepping out

In places

Where others

Were quick

To assume

She shouldn’t be.

As they painted

Her into a box

She refused

To conform

To the limitations

Society placed

On her.
