She Walked the Fire

--

She walked the fire

Broken and bloodied.

No longer a child

Not quite a woman.

She felt those

Flames,

Burning and painful,

Everything can change

On a turn.

In the blink of an

Eye

A world can change

What is,

Becomes what was.

She fought hard

After waking up

In a hospital room

Legs that no longer worked

Did not have

To equate

To broken dreams.

She fought through

The pain

Learning to accept

A life changed,

But she made it

And that was

Reason enough

To Celebrate.
