She Wasn’t Okay, And That Was Okay
There was something
Different
A vulnerability
Hidden beneath
The strength.
Her voice
Sounded almost
Weak.
“I want to be
Strong
To fight this
Battle head on
But I feel so weak.”
I looked at her
So strong
Even in her
Weakness
She was strong
That was true
But sometimes
The strength
Came
In showing weakness.
A gentle hand
On her shoulder
I said
“You’re not okay,
And that’s okay
Even the strongest
Have moments of
Weakness
Fighting their way
Back to strength.
There was a sadness
In her eyes but
Relief too
As I said
“You don’t have
To pretend
With me.”
