Shut-Out

A loved one suffering from mental health issues..I did what i could, until I couldn’t any longer…

She wouldn’t let

Me in

As she battled

Demons only

She could see.

In her eyes

I was one of them

As she pushed away

Those trying

To help.

She could throw

Words of hate

And

They’d stab

Sharper than

Any sword.

I tried to be

A quiet voice

In the chaos

But all I heard

Were words

Of confusion

And hate.
