Chapter Two:

Anna-leiss loved the feeling of getting lost in her husbands eyes. The blessings she had been given, the life she had now, a gift from God.

“I don’t know how I got to be so blessed.” Anna-leiss said, slowly raising from her seat on the sofa.

“God has blessed me with you, and our daughters. I’m the one whose rich.” He smiled, noticing the way Anna-leiss winced, which immediately set off alarm bells.

Anna-leiss smiled, but Clarence could read the pain in her eyes.

“Are you okay sweetheart?” Clarence asked, reading the answer in her eyes.

As he helped her sit back down, she took her prosthetics off, as Clarence saw the pain the blisters, maybe that long walk. a couple of weeks ago had been to hard on her.

“You’re not going to be able to where your prosthetics for awhile.”

Anna-leiss nodded, she wasn’t going to risk infection.

Clarence got everything they needed to bandage the sores that were starting to form. Relieved that Anna-leiss had not hidden her pain this time.

“I’m sorry.” Anna-leiss apologized.

“Sweetheart you have nothing to be sorry for.”
