They looked at her
With skepticism
An old lady
In their eyes
How could she
Know the
Pain of prejudice
Of judgement
For simply
Being who you
Are.
Her name was Stella
They quickly learned
Small in stature
Bigger than life
Before long
They sat listening
Wide eyed.
Pain and prejudice
Isn’t knew
She sad
A sadness
In her voice
But the strength
Was evident too.
