Step Back In Time

There’s a silence

That has fallen over

This place

An eerie quiet

That takes away

From the history

Of this place

And oddly

Adds to it too.

There’s an emptiness

On streets

That once were filled

With people

And Stage coaches

Horses and Buggies

And people speaking

In a rainbow of

Tongues.

There’s a song

That is sung

Even in the silence

A song that speaks

Of history and hope.

A reminder of

All we have overcome.

There’s a peace

That reminds us

Of the beauty

We find

When

We step

Back in

Time.
