The neat little boxes

I am neither a hero

Nor do I need your

Pity.

Stop placing

More mountains

In front of us

For us to climb

Because of your discomfort

I’m a person

Just like you

In an instant

You could

Find yourself

In my shoes.

Stop

Underestimating

What we can do

Give us a chance

You’ll see

Your misconceptions

Are far from

True.

And by all means

Please stop talking to

Us like we’re two.
