Strength in the Broken Places

She says

Sometimes

I feel like

The glass

Shattered on the

Floor,

The one we

So carefully glued

And our Mother’s put away

Crooked handles

And all.

“There is

Strength in

The broken

Places

Beauty too

Our scars help

Define us.”

She smiled

And said

“Maybe,

I guess

What they say

Is true,

None of us

Go through

Life unscathed.

I smiled

And said

“That’s true

We find strength

In our broken

Places

Individuality too.”
