Hannah’s Story Continues

My reason for fighting came from Jesus, and also from the faces of the Sunday School children I had been teaching about Jesus for the past two years. When the doctors told me I had little chance of walking again, I wouldn’t have been able to stand as strong as I was if it weren’t for Jesus and those kids. My life had been changed that moment, but thank God for his faithfulness and love, which gave me hope in the future.

In no way am I saying this has been easy, because I struggle, I am tested, I am tried, but I know that we are not alone through the storms. It is such a comfort to know that there is a loving God who comforts us in hard times. As a Sunday School teacher, these children are always teaching me, and reminding me that we all have a purpose, a reason for being here. I am grateful for what he has given me, and I am grateful for what I have learned from them!

A child is less likely to judge than a single adult, who has the “if you are not healed, you cannot be a believer” mentality. Many wonderful, strong Christians have some form of disability or another. Most that I come across do not have this mentality, but enough do for it to present a problem.

My recovery from the accident has been amazing, I am not walking yet, and I may not be on this side of Heaven yet, but I have learned that I can still live a good life, that the accident wasn’t an ending, but a new beginning.
