The Hidden Battle (Suicide and Depression During a Pandemic)

Suicide rates of those known as Generation Z has gone up a great deal in the last decade or so, and in a time of Pandemic when help may not be as available so now more than ever it's important that we remind others that it's okay to reach out to others, a phone call, a text, FaceTime, or Facebook are all great tools that offer some level of connection a generation that embraced technology may very well be saved by that technolog.

Generation Z includes anyone born from 1997-2012, and sadly in the months prior to the Pandemic we saw more and more of those on the younger in of that spectrum either succeeded or attempting suicide, but that does not mean there is not hope or help.

I learned about Kristen Jane Anderson, the founder of Reaching You Ministries helps those suffering with depression, and encourages the young to get the help they need. She speaks from a place of experience having survived a suicide attempt that could have and should have killed her when she was seventeen, but God had other plans for her and now she has a hand in saving thousands of lives. I encourage anyone who wants to know more of Kristen Jane Anderson's story to look on Amazon for her book Life In Spite of Me because it just might save lives, and in this time of Pandemic we need to remember that there is still hope.
