The Impact of Distance Learning

(Lessons from the Pandemic)

If the Pandemic taught the world a lesson it was that we need each other, we may not always see eye to eye, and sometimes we can be downright nasty to each other but we need each other. Before the Pandemic we took things like hugs, and handshakes, and time together for granted, Zoom, FaceTime, and other video services allowed us to keep in contact with loved ones, but that’s just not the same as being able to be in the room with your daughter who is bringing your first Grandchild in the world, or a great grandmother longing to spend the short time she has left on earth with kids. And classroom lessons on Zoom do not fit every child, sadly not every child has the technology and many children do better with one on one learning.

One study showed that Remote learning led to an increase in temper tantrum’s with some children, and in some cases the downright refusal to do the assignments, many children work better when in a classroom environment, able to seek out the help of the teacher and other classmates, while children could still receive help via zoom, or FaceTime it’s just not the same.

And Distance Learning also led to an increased number of children dealing with mental health…
