The Things We Can’t Say

--

A Poem

The things we

Can’t Say

Often scream

The loudest

A silence that

Says so

Much

While saying

Nothing at all.

Pain,

Hidden behind

Smiles

And I’m Okay’s

Even in the moments

You clearly are

Not.

The things

We can’t Say

Often scream

In the silence

Things that

Words

Cannot begin

To cover

The pain beneath

Layers of

Smiles

And I’m

Okay’s.

The things

We cannot say

Speak louder

Than the things

We say.
