With the sixth anniversary of Rachel’s disappearance, her kidnapping really, because it is almost certain that is what happened to her.

Somedays are harder to move forward than others, because you never really move on, especially when you don’t have any sort of closure, when you don’t have any answers, moving forward is far more difficult. We need some sort of closure, answers to what happened to Rachel, but honestly we don’t know if that is ever going to happen.

I still see the joy and beauty in life, despite all that happened but there’s sadness there too, sadness from what happened to Rachel, as well as what happened to me, but more so what happened to Rachel, because I’m not the one who went missing. But I see the good despite everything because G-d’s goodness is not in question, it never has been. We would have to be blind not to see how G-d has worked in our lives. The fact that Bobe had survived all she had, was the story of G-d’s grace, we would not be here, had G-d not spared her in that Nazi hell, had Bobe not survived we would not be here, sharing our stories. And it was Bobe I leaned on when I needed extra strength. I knew Bobe would not always be there, I was not blind to her age, but in many ways she felt far younger than her years. I had my sister. and parents too of course, but Bobe had nine decades of life experience.
