Going home. I should be celebrating, but I was frightened, frightened by the changes I would, but more frightened by the fact that the person who. did this to me, was still out, and still threatening me.

Stop searching or worse will come to you or your family.

You’ll never find your sister.

I know where you live, if you don’t stop looking you’ll pay a price you don’t want to pay.

She’s mine now, no one will take her away from me.

The threats scared me, because I knew what this faceless man was capable of, and I was sure he was the one responsible for Rachel’s kidnapping because now more than ever I was sure that was what had happened.

I showed Esther the emails, unable to hide them, unable to keep them to myself. I needed to know that I was not overreacting, and Esther ensured me I was not. My fears were not unfounded.

“I think we need to call the Police, report the threats.”

I nodded. “I’ve done that, but there’s not much that can be done, he’s covering his tracks well.”

“He will get caught Talia, and Rachel will be found.”

“I want to believe that Esther, but look at the price we’re all paying. And now he’s threatening you guys.”
