The Words I Pray, The Ones I Don’t
Photo by Public Domain Pictures from Pexels
I fold my hands
In prayer
A need so
Real it cuts
Me in two
Seeing one
You look too
For guidance
In faith
Dealing with heartbreaking
Pain
Is not an easy
Thing to do
It’s a powerful
Reminder how
Human we are.
But still I pray
Words I speak
But perhaps it’s
The Words
That are left
Unspoken that
Speak the most.
I’ve learned
To read
Cues
In all my years
The truth that
Is not always spoken
But is heard
The strongest of us
Are brought to
Our knees with
Questions
That much I believe.
Now I sit here
Simply trying to
Express a pain
That perhaps words
Cannot explain
But I try anyway
Because really
I don’t know
What else to
Say.
