There’s No Winner In This Game

There’s no winner
In this game
It always ends
In pain.
It’s the innocent
Hurt
Far to often
On each side
A childhood game
Of soldiers
All to real.
There’s families
Grieving in this
Fight
Innocent lives
Lost in a war
They did not
Sign up to
Fight.
There’s no winner
In this game
Instead it ends
In bloodshed
And pain
For a war
That did not
Need to be fought.
When
A power play
And a messianic
Complex
Comes into play
Sorrow comes
Into play
For anyone
Who stands
In the way.
