They Stole My Dignity and My Name
They stole it
From me
The name
My Mother used
To whisper
In my ear
When the nights
Exploded.
They stole it
From me
The family
I Clung to
My hope
My future
My dream.
They stole
It from me
The childhood
That was supposed
To be full and
Innocent.
They stole it
From me
The home
I once knew
Warm and secure
And for what hate?
They stole it
From me
The pieces of my
Dignity.
They tried to
Steal my Faith too
Break me down
Until
I stopped
Believing
But G-D is
