They tried to
Paint her a
Sad reality
Color her world
In shades of gray
Dark and hazy
But she refused
To look at the
World through
Darkened eyes.
It could have
Broke her
That shift
In reality
A world changed
Her life rearranged
She’d been through
Enough to bring
A giant to their
Knees.
She refused
To let them
Paint her reality
Shade it with
Negative attitudes
And unfair assumptions
Her life was a gift
Not a tragedy.
