I was born in the foothills of Northern California, I spent some of my earliest years in an old house in Columbia, and currently live in apart in the same town, but in many ways Columbia and Sonora blend together, but Columbia was made famous for the Gold Rush, and on any given weekend tourists are free to step back in time.

In July of 1945 Columbia became part of the California State Park Systems, bringing back life to a town that was by then fledgeling. Tourists to this day come from all over

This town has its share of stories and tragedies, the town burned nearly to the ground several times leading to necessary rebuilding, most notably, rebuildimg much of the town in brick rather than wood.

Many of the businesses around here have been around for well over a century sadly though the Pandemic led to some of these businesses having to close permanently, most notably, a well loved restaurant, thankfully the Saloon above which served the best Pizza in our area in my opinion is still…
