*The challenge was to write a story using these pieces of dialogue “I really can’t stand you.” And “Then why are you still listening to me?” This is what I came up with.

If looks could truly kill, she would be dead by now. And she was sure that was what her captor wanted, he wanted her to stop listening so he could kill her. He wanted her dead, but he needed an excuse, he could tell his bosses, she wasn’t listening.

For three days he had tried to break her, a shadow of a man, who did he think he was fooling though. He couldn’t hide who he was not from her. She stared at the mask man, Trent, she had known him once in a more intimate way, but when his true colors came shinning through, and it wasn’t long before she saw what he was capable of, when he had killed a man in front of her for no other reason than to show her who was boss.

“You are going to regret leaving me Trina.” He said, still a shadow in the darkness, but she wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of showing her fear. He took pleasure in that, a pleasure she was not about to give him.

“When are you going to learn Trent, I really can’t stand you. You trapping me in this room threatening my life isn’t going to change that.”

“This is so much bigger than you and I.” Trent said. “Others are at play.”
