Warrior

For my Aunt D…

I was a kid

When you became

Part of my life

Old enough to remember

A time without you

But those memories are

Vague

Like the memory

Of the taste

Of a fruit

You’ve not eaten

In years.

My Aunt from

The start

From the moment

I met you

I knew we were

Family,

That somethings

Are simply meant to

Be.

You have showed

A kindness

And a gentle strength

Over the years

A passion for life

That shines through

As you fight

For your

Existence.

Now you battle

Like a warrior

To survivor a monster

No longer a quiet

Strength
