We Spoke in Laughter and Tears
We spoke in
Laughter and Tears
Of Dreams
And Memories
Of pain and
Heartbreak.
Bestest Friends Forever
But forever
Took you
Away
On a cold
February Day.
We wrote
Twelve page
Letters
And poetry
On white
Lined Paper
It spoke of
Friendship
Of sisterhood
A bond
That even
Death could
Not fully break.
I want to dial
That long ago
Number
And tell you
Of births and deaths
Of friendship and loss
Remembering you were
The truest
Friend
I have ever had.
I’ve watched
Friendship
Blow away in the dust
While years
After you are gone
The bond is
Still there.
I can almost
Hear you echo
“Sisters of the Heart
Forever.”
