We’re About to Self Destruct

Violence begats

Violence

We see that’s

True

As one act

Of violence

Multiplies

Solving nothing.

Again and again

Towns are being destroyed

Lives being lost

In some kind

Of twisted

Version

Of an eye

For an eye.

Can hatred on

This scale,

Really honor

A life so

Unfairly

Lost?

This isn’t to me

About politics

It’s about

Watching our country

Slowly self destruct,

And for what

Justice?

Martin Luther King

Had a dream

But it wasn’t this,

It never was.
