We’re Murdering Freedom Again and Again
Like so many others, I am angered and hurt by the blatant murder of George Floyd, by an officer who should have never been allowed to wear a badge or carry a gun.
Another man murdered
At the hands
Of hate
By the ones
Called to protect
And serve.
Knees pressed
To neck
So hard
He calls
Out
“I can’t breathe.”
Only to be ignored.
As if a monster
Got some
Sick twisted
Pleasure out
Of watching
A life ebb
Away at
His hands.

That one day
The color of a
