What Happened to

Respect

Especially when

It comes

To respecting

Your elders

Attitude and Sass

Angry words

Of hate

Seems to be

The games

That are played

Today.

I’m not talking

About all

Children

But it does

Seem to be

More commonplace

Children cursing

Out adults

When things don’t

Go their way.

I’ve seen the

Lack of direction

The lack of consequences

For children who

Have no guidance

And the consequences

Aren’t pretty.

I’m all for

Respect

And words

Being used

With care

But if we let

A child

Do whatever

They want to

Do

Speak to adults

The way they do

I’m sorry that’s not
