You Make Lemonade
Romans 8:26–28 NIV
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. [27] And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. [28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Life could be hard. I knew that, I had known it long before a bullet lodged into her spine, paralyzing me from mid back down.
I had survived the murder of my cousin, my best friend, Alexis when I was only ten, and I really hadn’t had a personal relationship with Christ the way I do now.
I looked around my room, the reminder of my life before I was shot, but it’s a reminder of something else too, the fact that I was still alive, I was paralyzed but I was alive, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
And my friend, my partner Brock was there for me, encouraging me not to give up, not to become some stuck on what happened that I forgot to live the life I still had.
