Chapter Eleven:

As we made our way along that long hospital corridor, I gave thanks to the Lord for bringing my sister back to me. Although I hadn’t seen Bri yet, knowing I would soon be face-to-face with her gave me comfort and hope.

The Good Lord answered my prayers three times, yes, no, and later. Although we often did not understand his answers, I was grateful for the yeses. Though I didn’t know what it would look like yet, I knew it could have turned out differently if Bri hadn’t been back.

I was now had custody of my little sister, And I coudn’t be more grateful. There is no better feeling than this. Knowing that the Lord has us, even through this.

While Bri appears so small in the hospital bed, she is alive, and a smile crosses her face as I wheel myself into her room. It relieved me because I was afraid she would be so distraught that she wouldn’t recognize me. There was no way I could imagine what she’d been through.

“I am sorry you got huert Chelsea.” She said weakly.

”I am, but I’ll be okay.“ I assured Brianna. She didn’t need to focus on anything but healing.

”They shot you.“
