When the Pieces Don’t Fit
Chapter Five:
When I’m not working on P.T. or O.T, I’m trying to piece together a puzzle that doesn’t make any sense. That’s what happened to my sister, the way they kidnapped her in broad daylight just a few dozen feet from me. I still have no doubt our Mother is behind this, she has admitted as much.
I was shocked and grateful when someone from the community dropped off a laptop at the front desk for me. By using the laptop, I can follow Bri’s search in real time, and it might help me put the pieces together, and hopefully bring us closer to finding her.
In the weeks since Bri had been kidnapped and I had been shot, the community had been very supportive of me and I was grateful. I had not seen the support of our Mother, the one who was supposed to love me, or the Father who had disappeared when life had gotten too hard, when Mother had fallen so deep into drugs that she couldn’t escape. At first, he fought for Bri and I, but no one believed him, always believing my mother’s lies. She had a way of making those who were trying to protect us, that she was the better caregiver. Unfortunately it took this for them to open their eyes.
If Bri was found, I would do everything in my power to prevent my mother from getting her back! Bri deserved better than to be…
