In 2005, the first edition of this book was released, and for the past few years I’ve been working on the preface along with the articles for this one, unfortunately Karla Dorman passed away last month, so it does feel a little odd moving forward, but I believe this is what she would want.

I wrote this intro back in 2019, not knowing life would get in the way, and that in less than four years Karla would pass away. So I’ve decided to continue to move forward with this project in her memory.

I’ve updated some of the cringeworthy portions of the Intro lol:

I knew my Freshmen year of High-school, I was meant to be a writer, that year I had an amazing teacher Mrs Quinn, who encouraged me to write, by stepping outside of the box and assigning me extra credit projects where I could share my stories. The stories from back then are mostly lost to time. But with her encouragement someday I would become published.

I wrote and continue to write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and I knew too that in my writing I was going to shed a positive light on those with disabilities, I was to educate and enlighten others through the written…
