Words Are Our Most Powerful Weapon, Use them Wisely

We have a right

To stand up to

Stand out

To make our voices

Heard

But when that

Crosses into violence

And destruction

We’re not making ourselves

Heard

We’re destroying

That which isn’t ours.

We have a right

To peacefully protest

To pray

To believe

Something good

Can come out of a tragedy

But to use the loss

Of someone to destroy

That which isn’t ours

To burn down neighborhoods

And towns

That’s insanity.

So go ahead

Use your words

They are more powerful

Than any weapon

Guns and bombs

And violence don’t

Echo through

The generations

Words do.

Words are our

Most powerful weapon

Use them wisely.
