The Time Is Now

“A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word on paper.” – E.B. White

It’s time to dust off that story that’s been gathering dust, the one you’ve been meaning to write, maybe you’ve even got a good start on it, but it sits in your computer files or is scrawled out on one of your favorite notebooks. You might write the next great American novel, or you might write a story about your family’s first steps in America through Ellis Island, or maybe you will write an article on writing like this one. Now is a good time to share your story as there are more possibilities than can be counted!

“A writer is a writer not because she writes well and easily, because she has amazing talent, because everything she does is golden. In my view a writer is a writer because even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway.” – Junot Diaz

It may not be that you are struggling to continue a story, but starting one. You keep thinking, what if I post it on Medium and no one reads it? I have asked myself that question hundreds of times before, but let’s ask ourselves another question: what if someone else reads it? What if it resonates with your readers?
