Yes Virginia, It Snows in California

Just a PSA

Again and again people surprise me, sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad, and sometimes I find it just humorous.

“Yes Virgina, we get snow.”

The recent storms has brought shockwaves to many who do not live in California especially in my part, snow is not necessarily rare in this area of California, especially in the Sierra Nevada foothills, we are about three hours from Lake Tahoe, the fact that we got snow isn’t the surprising aspect of these latest storms, it’s the length and severity.

In a town farther up North, an eighty year old woman was crushed when her enclosed porch collapsed, neighbors and emergency personnel were able to get her out, but she passed away enroute to the hospital.

I have friends that live farther up, and not being able to hear from them is hard, but in times like this, when power and phone lines can be brought down by the strength of these storms, we have to leave it in God’s hands.

Does that mean we don’t worry, that we don’t prepare, of course not, but this last storm hit hard, and fast. Unfortunately not everyone had a chance to prepare and…
