You Crushed Me With Words of Hate

You crushed me

With words of hate

Telling me

I was nothing to you

Forgetting the times

You called me crying

Asking for that safe place

I thought I would always be

The one you turned too

But hateful words

I will not tolerate

I do not care

Who spews then out.

I changed diapers,

Soothed upset tummies

Told stories

But I was nothing to you.

You told others lies

Making them believe it

Was true

And those that wouldn’t

Believe

You shut them out too.

You crushed me

With words of hate

Someday you’ll look

Back

And realize

When you’re all

Alone

That you make

The bed you lie in.
