You look at me

And see only what

You want to see,

Limitations and inabilities

But you really don’t know

Me,

If you did

You’d see me soar.

I see your looks of pity

I hear the things

You do not say

Words you think

You hide

But you don’t.

You want to look

At me as broken

But we’re all

Broken

In one way

Or another.

You look at me

With pity written

On your face

But I’m here

To tell you

I don’t need it

I’ve learned to soar.
